What It's Designed For

The F700 provides formaldehyde-targeted activated carbon filtration at 635 CFM — the highest airflow in the Airpura F series — for new construction and renovation off-gassing environments in larger or higher-volume spaces. The higher 635 CFM provides more air cycles per hour than the F600 for the same square footage, maintaining effective filtration in spaces with higher ceilings or faster air exchange requirements. For households where formaldehyde and VOC filtration is the primary concern and where greater airflow is needed alongside the same targeted carbon configuration of the F600, the F700 is the correct choice.

Filtration System

Pre-Filter — Captures large particles including construction dust at intake. Protects carbon and HEPA stages. Replace annually.

Carbon Bed — 18 lbs Formaldehyde-Targeted Activated Carbon — Calibrated for the chemical profile of off-gassing building materials: formaldehyde from pressed wood, MDF, and carpet adhesives; acetaldehyde and aldehyde compounds; VOCs from paints, varnishes, and sealants; BTX compounds (benzene, toluene, xylene) from construction materials; solvent vapors from adhesives and installation compounds.

True HEPA — 99.97% @ 0.3 microns — Removes fine construction dust, mold spores, pollen, fine particulate, bacteria, and airborne viral particles.

Replacement Filter Bundles

Replacement filters for the 700 series are on our replacement filters page.

Filter Suggested Interval
Pre-Filter Every 12 months
Carbon Filter Every 2 years
HEPA Filter Every 3–5 years

Best For

  • New construction or post-renovation homes at larger scale or with higher ceilings where the F600's 560 CFM is insufficient for the space volume
  • Open-plan environments where targeted formaldehyde filtration and greater air exchange rate are both required
  • Households with pregnant women, infants, or members with respiratory conditions in high-ceiling or larger spaces where the F600 proves insufficient

F700 vs. F600: The F600 runs at 560 CFM. The F700 provides 635 CFM with the same formaldehyde-targeted carbon — the correct choice when greater airflow is needed for the space. F700 vs. F714: The F714 upgrades to Super HEPA 99.99% — appropriate when fine particle sensitivity compounds the formaldehyde concern. F700 vs. F700 DLX: The F700 DLX upgrades to 26 lbs of super enhanced impregnated carbon with HepaBarrier for maximum formaldehyde adsorption capacity in heavy off-gassing environments.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Airpura rates this machine for up to 2,500 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with 8-foot ceilings. For four air changes, which is what we suggest for smoke, asthma or chemical sensitivity, plan on about 1,250 sq ft.

  • The F400 ($669.98) is the compact version: a smaller cabinet and carbon bed, rated by Airpura for 1,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour.
  • The F600 ($1,049.98) moves 560 CFM and is rated by Airpura for 2,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with the same filters.
  • The F714 ($1,249.98) is the same machine with a Super HEPA filter, 99.99% at 0.3 microns, in place of True HEPA at 99.97%.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. That matters for people with asthma or chemical sensitivity, because ozone is a known airway irritant. Airpura does build UV-equipped machines, and they are gathered in the UV air purifiers collection — this is not one of them.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Airpura's 600 and 700 series have a variable-speed dial rather than numbered speeds, and a low to medium setting suits continuous use. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship free directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Most orders arrive in 4 to 9 business days, including 1 to 3 business days to process. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, plus labor-only coverage to 10 years. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

Run it in your home for 30 days. If it is not right, email support@freshhomeair.com and we will send you a prepaid, insured return label. We pay the return shipping, there is no restocking fee, and you get a full refund once the unit is back with us. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email us within 7 days with photos of the item and the packaging. We will send a replacement and collect the original, and you pay nothing.

Yes. No ionizer, no ozone, no UV. Mechanical HEPA and activated carbon only, safe for continuous use in rooms with children and pets.

Cleared Formaldehyde From a Whole Floor

Did a full renovation on the top floor of our home. Formaldehyde off-gassing from new materials was intense. The F700 cleared the entire floor within a week. Remarkable machine.

Best Option for Large Spaces

The F700 is the right choice when you need formaldehyde filtration across a very large area. We have new construction throughout our entire main floor and the potassium permanganate carbon at this CFM rating handles the load without struggling. Only four stars because at maximum speed it is louder than I'd prefer for a living space.

Large Construction Project Saver

We were living in our home during a major renovation and the formaldehyde and VOC off-gassing was becoming unbearable. The F700's highest CFM in the F-series combined with potassium permanganate carbon handled our 2,000+ sq ft open floor plan and made the indoor air genuinely tolerable during construction. Nothing else I looked at could have managed this space.
