Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. That matters for people with asthma or chemical sensitivity, because ozone is a known airway irritant. Airpura does build UV-equipped machines, and they are gathered in the UV air purifiers collection — this is not one of them.
