Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.
