What It's Designed For

The V614 pairs 18 lbs of impregnated activated carbon with Super HEPA rated at 99.99% — the correct configuration for larger spaces where specific VOC or chemical exposure is the primary concern and where asthma, fine particle sensitivity, or immune compromise makes the standard HEPA rating insufficient. Off-gassing from new construction materials produces both chemical vapors and elevated fine particulate simultaneously; the V614 addresses both with targeted chemical carbon and the highest particle capture efficiency in the standard V series.

Filtration System

Pre-Filter — Captures large particles at intake. Protects carbon and HEPA stages. Replace annually.

Carbon Bed — 18 lbs Impregnated Activated Carbon — Chemically treated carbon targeting VOCs from synthetic flooring, PVC, adhesives, solvents, and building materials; chemical off-gassing from new construction and renovation; airborne chemical contaminants in work-adjacent environments. Extends effective adsorption range beyond standard activated carbon.

Super HEPA — 99.99% @ 0.3 microns — Rated 99.99% at 0.3 microns, against 99.97% for standard True HEPA. Captures fine particulate, mold spores, pollen, pet dander, PM2.5, bacteria, and airborne viral particles with maximum efficiency. The correct choice when particle sensitivity is a compounding concern alongside chemical exposure.

Bundle Description Bundle Price Regular Price
#1 Bundle V600/V614 Carbon filter V600 + prefilter pack $349.98 $389.96
#3 Bundle V614 Carbon filter V600 + HEPA filter 614 + prefilter pack $469.98 $629.94

Best For

  • Larger spaces with identified chemical exposure where asthma or fine particle sensitivity is a compounding concern
  • New construction or renovation environments with simultaneous chemical off-gassing and elevated fine construction particulate
  • Sensitive households requiring both targeted VOC adsorption and maximum particle filtration in a single unit

V614 vs. V600: The V600 uses standard HEPA 99.97%. The V614 upgrades to Super HEPA 99.99% — the correct choice when fine particle sensitivity compounds the chemical concern. V614 vs. R614: The R614 uses standard activated carbon with Super HEPA. If targeted chemical adsorption rather than general-purpose carbon is the priority, the V614 is appropriate. V614 vs. V714: The V714 has the same carbon and Super HEPA at 635 CFM, for larger spaces. Neither has a UV lamp; for UV-C, see the UV614 or UV714.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Airpura rates this machine for up to 2,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with 8-foot ceilings. For four air changes, which is what we suggest for smoke, asthma or chemical sensitivity, plan on about 1,000 sq ft.

  • The V414 ($669.98) is the compact version: a smaller cabinet and carbon bed, rated by Airpura for 1,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour.
  • The V714 ($1,199.98) moves 635 CFM and is rated by Airpura for 2,500 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with the same filters.
  • The V600 ($999.98) is the same machine with a True HEPA filter, 99.97% at 0.3 microns, in place of Super HEPA at 99.99%.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. That matters for people with asthma or chemical sensitivity, because ozone is a known airway irritant. Airpura does build UV-equipped machines, and they are gathered in the UV air purifiers collection — this is not one of them.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Airpura's 600 and 700 series have a variable-speed dial rather than numbered speeds, and a low to medium setting suits continuous use. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship free directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Most orders arrive in 4 to 9 business days, including 1 to 3 business days to process. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, plus labor-only coverage to 10 years. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

Run it in your home for 30 days. If it is not right, email support@freshhomeair.com and we will send you a prepaid, insured return label. good VOC performance, slight learning curve

Excellent at VOC filtration — my chemical sensitivity symptoms have reduced since installation. It took me a week or so to find the ideal placement in my 1700 sq ft open plan. Once positioned correctly it handles the whole floor. Enhanced airflow over the V600 is a real improvement.

handles ongoing VOC issues in older home

Our older home has persistent VOC issues from original materials. The V614's enhanced filtration stays ahead of what the standard V600 could manage. After six months of continuous use the air quality in our main floor is measurably cleaner by our meter readings.

upgraded from V600 for good reason

I had an older V600 and decided to try the V614 when it was time for a new unit. The enhanced VOC filtration is noticeable — the air in our newly renovated basement clears faster after any off-gassing event. The 2000 sq ft coverage handles our finished basement and adjacent family room.
