What It's Designed For

The UV600 adds a germicidal UV-C lamp stage to the R600 platform — 18 lbs of activated carbon paired with True HEPA and UV-C sterilization at 560 CFM for rooms up to approximately 2,000 sq ft. UV-C wavelength radiation destroys the DNA/RNA of bacteria, viruses, and mold spores as air passes through the lamp chamber. The UV600 is designed for environments where microbial contamination is a specific concern: households with mold issues, immunocompromised members, healthcare-adjacent residential use, or any space where biological pathogen control is a priority alongside chemical and particle filtration.

Filtration System

Pre-Filter — Captures large particles at intake. Protects carbon and HEPA stages. Replace annually.

Carbon Bed — 18 lbs Activated Carbon — Adsorbs VOCs, chemical off-gassing, formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, and airborne chemical contaminants across the standard adsorption range. Dwell time over the carbon bed is carefully calibrated for effective adsorption.

UV-C Germicidal Lamp — UV wavelength radiation sterilizes bacteria, viruses, and mold spores in the air stream as they pass through the lamp chamber. The lamp targets biological pathogens that HEPA captures but does not destroy. Replace the lamp on schedule to maintain germicidal efficacy.

True HEPA — 99.97% @ 0.3 microns — Captures fine particulate, mold spores, pollen, pet dander, PM2.5, bacteria, and airborne viral particles. Works in conjunction with the UV-C stage: HEPA captures particles, UV-C sterilizes biological contaminants.

Replacement Filter Bundles

Bundle Description Bundle Price Regular Price
#1 Bundle UV600/UV614 Carbon filter R600 + UV light + prefilter pack $369.98 $479.98
#2 Bundle UV600 Carbon filter R600 + HEPA filter 600 + UV light + prefilter pack $459.98 $689.92

Best For

  • Households with mold, persistent microbial contamination, or elevated biological pathogen concerns
  • Immunocompromised individuals for whom pathogen destruction — not just particle capture — is a filtration goal
  • Healthcare-adjacent residential use where virus and bacteria control is a priority alongside chemical and particulate filtration
  • Spaces where mold remediation has occurred and ongoing biological control is required

UV600 vs. R600: The R600 lacks UV-C. The UV600 adds germicidal sterilization — the correct choice when microbial contamination is a specific concern alongside chemical and particle filtration. UV600 vs. UV614: The UV614 upgrades to Super HEPA 99.99% — appropriate when fine particle sensitivity compounds the pathogen control concern. UV600 vs. P600: The P600 adds TitanClean photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) alongside UV-C, providing chemical-destructive capability in addition to sterilization. For environments with both biological and elevated chemical concerns, the P600 is appropriate. UV600 vs. UV700: The UV700 runs at 635 CFM with the same UV-C and HEPA configuration. For larger or higher-ceiling spaces, the UV700 is the upgrade.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Coverage varies by model — check the product specifications above for the rated room size. As a general rule, all units perform best when running below their rated capacity, which reduces noise and extends filter life.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. The carbon bed in this unit is rated to last 2–3 years under continuous use in a typical residential environment. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No ionizer and no ozone. This unit does include a germicidal UV-C lamp, fully enclosed inside the cabinet — it treats only the air passing through and emits no UV into the room. The particle and chemical work is still done by mechanical HEPA and activated carbon.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Most Airpura users run their units continuously at speed 2–3. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship free directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Most orders arrive in 4 to 9 business days, including 1 to 3 business days to process. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, plus labor-only coverage to 10 years. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

Run it in your home for 30 days. If it is not right, email support@freshhomeair.com and we will send you a prepaid, insured return label. We pay the return shipping, there is no restocking fee, and you get a full refund once the unit is back with us. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email us within 7 days with photos of the item and the packaging. We will send a replacement and collect the original, and you pay nothing.

Yes. The germicidal UV-C lamp is fully enclosed inside the cabinet — it treats only the air passing through and exposes no one in the room to UV. No ozone, no ionizer. Safe for continuous use around children and pets.
