What It's Designed For

The G600 is designed for individuals with chemical sensitivity for whom the carbon source matters — 18 lbs of German-sourced activated carbon at 560 CFM for rooms up to approximately 2,000 sq ft. Airpura describes it as premium German-sourced carbon that has no odor, for more sensitive people. For MCS individuals who react to standard activated carbon, or for users requiring the cleanest possible chemical filtration in a larger space, the G600 provides broad-spectrum VOC and chemical filtration with a carbon source calibrated for sensitive populations.

Bundle Description Bundle Price Regular Price
#3 Bundle G600/G614 Carbon filter G600 + prefilter pack $349.98 $389.96
#4 Bundle G600 Carbon filter G600 + HEPA filter 600 + prefilter pack $469.98 $599.94

Best For

  • MCS individuals who have reacted to standard activated carbon and require a German-sourced carbon alternative in a larger-space unit
  • Sensitive households requiring broad-spectrum chemical filtration at 2,000 sq ft scale without the full heavy-carbon MCS load of the C600

G600 vs. C600: The C600 carries 26 lbs of impregnated carbon with HepaBarrier for serious MCS applications. The G600 carries 18 lbs of German carbon for users where German-sourced carbon is the primary concern. G600 vs. G614: The G614 upgrades to Super HEPA 99.99% — appropriate when fine particle sensitivity compounds the chemical sensitivity concern. G600 vs. G600 DLX: The G600 DLX holds 26 lbs of the same German carbon with a HEPA Barrier, and Airpura offers an impregnated carbon filter for it as an upgrade. G600 vs. G700: The G700 runs at 635 CFM with the same German carbon configuration. For larger or higher-ceiling spaces, the G700 is the upgrade.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Airpura rates this machine for up to 2,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with 8-foot ceilings. For four air changes, which is what we suggest for smoke, asthma or chemical sensitivity, plan on about 1,000 sq ft.

  • The G400 ($709.98) is the compact version: a smaller cabinet and carbon bed, rated by Airpura for 1,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour.
  • The G700 ($1,249.98) moves 635 CFM and is rated by Airpura for 2,500 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with the same filters.
  • The G614 ($1,149.98) is the same machine with a Super HEPA filter, 99.99% at 0.3 microns, in place of True HEPA at 99.97%.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. That matters for people with asthma or chemical sensitivity, because ozone is a known airway irritant. Airpura does build UV-equipped machines, and they are gathered in the UV air purifiers collection — this is not one of them.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Airpura's 600 and 700 series have a variable-speed dial rather than numbered speeds, and a low to medium setting suits continuous use. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship free directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Most orders arrive in 4 to 9 business days, including 1 to 3 business days to process. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, plus labor-only coverage to 10 years. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

Run it in your home for 30 days. If it is not right, email support@freshhomeair.com and we will send you a prepaid, insured return label. We pay the return shipping, there is no restocking fee, and you get a full refund once the unit is back with us. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email us within 7 days with photos of the item and the packaging. We will send a replacement and collect the original, and you pay nothing.

Yes. No ionizer, no ozone, no UV. Mechanical HEPA and activated carbon only, safe for continuous use in rooms with children and pets.

uv plus hepa is effective for biological contaminants

The G600 handles the biological contamination concerns in our older, humid home. The UV lamp adds a layer of filtration that standard units lack and the carbon manages odors. My only note is that the UV bulb will need replacement eventually — factor that into the long-term cost. But for mold and biological concerns this is the right specialized unit.

right unit for a damp basement

Our basement has persistent dampness issues and biological air quality concerns. The G600's UV lamp combined with HEPA and carbon is specifically designed for this environment. Running it continuously for three months and the musty smell is gone. Very effective for exactly this use case.

Excellent machine with broad-spectrum filtration that covers everything I needed for my space. The build quality is what you'd expect from Airpura — solid and built to last.

uv lamp plus hepa handles the mold issue

We had a minor mold issue in our basement after a water intrusion. The G600 with its UV lamp targeting biological contaminants has been running in the remediated space for four months. Air quality readings and smell both indicate it's doing its job. The combination of HEPA, UV, and carbon is exactly right for a mold-prone environment.
