Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight.
