What It's Designed For

The F700 DLX is the maximum formaldehyde adsorption configuration in the 700 F series — 26 lbs of super enhanced impregnated activated carbon for the heaviest formaldehyde and aldehyde off-gassing environments at 635 CFM. The higher airflow of the 700 series maintains correctly calibrated dwell time over the 26-lb carbon bed at greater throughput, providing effective adsorption for heavy off-gassing loads in larger or higher-ceiling spaces. For new construction with extensive pressed wood, MDF, and adhesive-intensive materials throughout a larger structure, or any environment where the F600 DLX's 560 CFM proves insufficient, the F700 DLX provides the same maximum formaldehyde adsorption specification at greater air exchange rate.

Filtration System

Pre-Filter — Captures large particles including construction dust at intake. Protects the carbon bed and post-filter stages. Replace annually.

Carbon Bed — 26 lbs Super Enhanced Impregnated Activated Carbon — Chemically impregnated for maximum formaldehyde adsorption capacity. Targets formaldehyde and acetaldehyde from pressed wood, MDF, and carpet adhesives; BTX VOCs from paints, varnishes, and sealants; reactive aldehyde compounds; adhesive vapors and synthetic flooring off-gassing. Greater adsorption capacity and correctly calibrated dwell time at 635 CFM for heavy off-gassing environments.

HepaBarrier Post-Filter — Captures approximately 95% of airborne particles at the exit stage. Available in two configurations: HepaBarrier with frame (full assembly) or HepaBarrier filter cloth only for subsequent replacements.

Replacement Filter Bundles

No pre-packaged replacement bundles for the 700 series. Replacement filters sold individually — contact Fresh Home Air for current filter pricing.

Best For

  • New construction in larger spaces with extensive pressed wood, MDF, or adhesive-intensive materials where both the full 26-lb impregnated carbon load and greater airflow are needed
  • Severe off-gassing in high-ceiling or higher-volume environments where the F600 DLX's 560 CFM is insufficient for effective air cycling
  • MCS households in larger spaces where reactive aldehyde compounds require impregnated carbon at maximum airflow

F700 DLX vs. F700: The F700 uses 18 lbs of standard formaldehyde carbon. The F700 DLX upgrades to 26 lbs of super enhanced impregnated carbon — the correct choice for heavy off-gassing where maximum adsorption capacity and reactive aldehyde capture are priorities. F700 DLX vs. F714: The F714 upgrades the HEPA stage to Super HEPA 99.99% rather than the carbon stage. If maximum formaldehyde adsorption is the priority, the F700 DLX is correct; if maximum particle capture alongside formaldehyde is the concern, the F714 is appropriate. F700 DLX vs. F600 DLX: The F600 DLX runs at 560 CFM. The F700 DLX provides 635 CFM — the correct choice when greater airflow is needed for the space volume.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Coverage varies by model — check the product specifications above for the rated room size. As a general rule, all units perform best when running below their rated capacity, which reduces noise and extends filter life.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. The carbon bed in this unit is rated to last 2–3 years under continuous use in a typical residential environment. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Austin Air units have 4 speed settings. Speed 1 is quiet enough for sleeping. Speed 2 produces a consistent low hum that most people find unobtrusive. Speed 3 is suitable for daytime use. Speed 4 is intended for rapid air changes in emergency situations — wildfire smoke events, high-pollen days — not for standard overnight operation.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. It is safe for people with asthma, chemical sensitivity, and other respiratory conditions where ozone is a known irritant. This is a firm design standard across the entire Austin Air lineup.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Most Airpura users run their units continuously at speed 2–3. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Orders typically clear customs within 2–3 business days and arrive within 7–14 business days to most US addresses. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for units in original condition. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com to initiate a return. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the unit arrives damaged or defective. Units that arrive damaged should be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photos.

Yes. No ionizer, no ozone, no UV exposure to room air. The Austin Air HealthMate was specifically studied at Johns Hopkins for use in children's homes — the clinical research involved families with young children. These units are safe for continuous operation in homes with children and pets. They are in fact commonly deployed exactly for this purpose.
