It is designed for environments with severe or prolonged off-gassing loads: new construction with extensive pressed wood and MDF, renovations involving adhesives and sealants across multiple rooms, or any household where standard formaldehyde-targeted carbon has proven insufficient. The impregnated carbon extends the effective adsorption range to reactive aldehyde compounds and VOC categories that standard carbon misses.

F400 DLX vs. F400: The F400 uses standard formaldehyde-targeted activated carbon. The F400 DLX upgrades to super enhanced impregnated carbon — the correct choice for heavy off-gassing loads or when aldehyde compounds beyond formaldehyde are the primary concern. F400 DLX vs. F414: The F414 upgrades the HEPA stage to Super HEPA 99.99% rather than the carbon stage. If maximum particle capture alongside formaldehyde is the concern, the F414 is appropriate; if maximum formaldehyde adsorption capacity is the priority, the F400 DLX is correct.
