Airpura C600 DLX
What It's Designed For
The C600 DLX is the highest-specification chemical filtration configuration in the standard 600 C series — 26 lbs of enhanced impregnated activated carbon for environments where standard impregnated carbon is not sufficient. Enhanced impregnation extends effective adsorption to reactive compounds that standard carbon — including standard impregnated carbon — cannot capture efficiently: ammonia, chlorine-based compounds, hydrogen sulfide, acid gases, and industrial VOC categories that require chemical reaction rather than physical adsorption for effective removal. For MCS individuals with wide-spectrum chemical reactivity, and for environments where a specific reactive compound has been identified as a concern, the C600 DLX provides the broadest chemical capture profile in the 600 series.

Filtration System
Pre-Filter — Captures large particles at intake. Protects the carbon bed and post-filter stages. Replace annually.
Carbon Bed — 26 lbs Enhanced Impregnated Activated Carbon — Chemically treated impregnated carbon that extends adsorption range to reactive compounds. Captures the full standard VOC range plus ammonia and nitrogen compounds, chlorine-based compounds, hydrogen sulfide, acid gases, low-concentration formaldehyde, industrial VOCs, and solvents requiring chemical reaction for effective capture. Over 400 specialty blends available for specific chemical environments.
HepaBarrier Post-Filter — Captures approximately 95% of airborne particles at the exit stage. Available in two configurations: HepaBarrier with frame (full assembly) or HepaBarrier filter cloth only for subsequent replacements.

Best For
- MCS individuals with wide-spectrum chemical reactivity including ammonia, chlorine, and reactive gases alongside standard VOC triggers
- Environments with industrial chemical exposure, solvent contamination, or reactive compound off-gassing that standard carbon cannot address
- Serious chemical sensitivity applications requiring the broadest available adsorption range in a room-scale unit
C600 DLX vs. C600: The C600 uses standard impregnated carbon. The C600 DLX upgrades to enhanced impregnated carbon — the correct choice when ammonia, chlorine, or reactive compounds are reactivity triggers. C600 DLX vs. G600 DLX: The G600 DLX uses enhanced impregnated German-sourced carbon. If the manufacturing origin of the carbon is a reactivity consideration, the G600 DLX is appropriate. C600 DLX vs. C700 DLX: The C700 DLX runs at 635 CFM with the same carbon configuration. For larger or higher-ceiling spaces, the C700 DLX is the upgrade.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you buy.
Coverage varies by model — check the product specifications above for the rated room size. As a general rule, all units perform best when running below their rated capacity, which reduces noise and extends filter life.
Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. The carbon bed in this unit is rated to last 2–3 years under continuous use in a typical residential environment. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.
Austin Air units have 4 speed settings. Speed 1 is quiet enough for sleeping. Speed 2 produces a consistent low hum that most people find unobtrusive. Speed 3 is suitable for daytime use. Speed 4 is intended for rapid air changes in emergency situations — wildfire smoke events, high-pollen days — not for standard overnight operation.
No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. It is safe for people with asthma, chemical sensitivity, and other respiratory conditions where ozone is a known irritant. This is a firm design standard across the entire Austin Air lineup.
Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.
Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Most Airpura users run their units continuously at speed 2–3. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.
Airpura units ship directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Orders typically clear customs within 2–3 business days and arrive within 7–14 business days to most US addresses. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.
Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for units in original condition. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com to initiate a return. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the unit arrives damaged or defective. Units that arrive damaged should be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photos.
Yes. No ionizer, no ozone, no UV exposure to room air. The Austin Air HealthMate was specifically studied at Johns Hopkins for use in children's homes — the clinical research involved families with young children. These units are safe for continuous operation in homes with children and pets. They are in fact commonly deployed exactly for this purpose.
