Medical-Grade HEPA for Bedrooms, Nurseries, and Compact Living Spaces
The Austin Air HealthMate Junior® delivers the same four-stage filtration technology as the full-size HealthMate in a compact unit sized for bedrooms, nurseries, home offices, and apartments. It is not a simplified or reduced product — it is the same clinical filtration architecture in a form factor appropriate for smaller rooms.
For individuals who need medical-grade air quality in a single room, the HealthMate Junior provides that without requiring a full-size unit.
Filtration System — 4 Stages
Stage 1 — Large Particle Pre-Filter
Mechanical capture of dust, pet hair, and larger airborne debris at the intake. Protects downstream stages and extends the life of the primary filter assembly.
Stage 2 — Medium Particle Pre-Filter
Secondary filtration layer targeting finer particles — mold spores, fine dust, and mid-range airborne matter — before they reach the HEPA stage.
Stage 3 — Activated Carbon + Zeolite Mineral Blend
A carbon and zeolite blend that addresses VOCs, gaseous chemicals, and household odors. Activated carbon adsorbs common VOCs, smoke compounds, and gases. Zeolite mineral contributes formaldehyde reduction, targeting a compound that standard activated carbon alone handles less effectively. The carbon charge is proportioned for the unit's room coverage target, maintaining the same filtration integrity at a scale appropriate for smaller spaces.
Stage 4 — True Medical-Grade HEPA
Rated to capture 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns and 99% at 0.1 microns. Removes pollen, pet dander, dust, mold spores, bacteria, and airborne viruses. The HEPA specification is identical to that used in the full-size HealthMate.
Filter Lifespan — 5 Years
The HealthMate Junior carries the same 5-year filter guarantee as the full-size HealthMate lineup. This is a significant cost-of-ownership advantage over purifiers requiring 6–12 month replacement cycles.
Construction
All-steel housing — no plastic shell. The HealthMate Junior does not introduce VOC off-gassing from its own chassis, which matters for chemically sensitive users and for use in nurseries where material safety is a concern. 360-degree air intake for efficient room circulation.
No Ionizer. No Ozone. No UV.
Mechanical filtration only. No secondary chemical output. The HealthMate Junior is appropriate for chemically sensitive adults and for use around children and infants where ozone and ion-generating technology pose unnecessary respiratory risk.

Who This Is For
- Individuals needing medical-grade HEPA filtration in a single room — bedroom, nursery, or home office
- Apartment or smaller home residents where a full-size unit exceeds room requirements
- Those with asthma, allergies, or general chemical sensitivity who want room-level protection
- Families requiring a unit safe for use around infants or children — no ozone, no ionizer, steel construction
HealthMate Junior vs. HealthMate Plus Junior: The standard Junior uses activated carbon and zeolite mineral for general VOC and chemical reduction. The HealthMate Plus Junior uses an enhanced zeolite formulation specifically calibrated for formaldehyde and ammonia — the appropriate choice for MCS or significant chemical sensitivity. If chemical load is the primary concern, specify the Plus Junior.
