Tobacco smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals and gases, tar compounds, and fine particulate matter including at least 60 carcinogens. The T400 addresses all three components: a dedicated TarBarrier pre-filter captures tar before it fouls the carbon bed; the activated carbon adsorbs the chemical and gas phase; True HEPA captures fine smoke particles. Sized for rooms up to approximately 1,000 sq ft.

Filtration System
TarBarrier Pre-Filter — Dedicated tar capture stage that removes tar compounds before they reach the carbon bed. Works similarly to a cigarette filter mechanism. Extends carbon service life dramatically in active smoking environments. Replace on schedule.
Carbon Bed — Activated Carbon — Adsorbs the gas-phase chemical load in tobacco smoke: benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, and hundreds of other combustion byproducts. The carbon is calibrated for the tobacco smoke chemical profile.
True HEPA — 99.97% @ 0.3 microns — Captures fine smoke particles, PM2.5, and biological particulate. Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) particles are fine enough to require HEPA-rated filtration to remove effectively.
