What It's Designed For

The C700 is the 700 series configuration for serious airborne chemical and VOC applications — 26 lbs of activated carbon at 635 CFM, the highest airflow available in the Airpura C series. The 26-lb carbon load extends dwell time for effective adsorption of the full spectrum of VOCs and chemical contaminants. A HepaBarrier post-filter captures particulate at the exit stage. For MCS applications and serious chemical sensitivity in larger or higher-volume spaces where the C600's 560 CFM is insufficient, the C700 provides the same heavy-carbon MCS-grade filtration at higher air exchange rate.

Filtration System

Pre-Filter — Captures large particles at intake. Protects the carbon bed and post-filter stages. Replace annually.

Carbon Bed — 26 lbs Activated Carbon — Adsorbs a broad range of VOCs, solvent vapors, off-gassing and odors, including benzene, toluene and xylene. The 26-lb carbon load provides greater adsorption capacity and properly calibrated dwell time for effective filtration. Over 400 specially blended carbon formulations available for specific chemical environments.

HepaBarrier Post-Filter — Captures approximately 95% of airborne particles at the exit stage. Available in two configurations: HepaBarrier with frame (full assembly) or HepaBarrier filter cloth only for subsequent replacements.

Replacement Filter Bundles

Replacement filters for the 700 series are on our replacement filters page.

Filter Suggested Interval
Pre-Filter Every 12 months
Carbon Filter Every 2 years
HEPA Barrier Every 12 months

Best For

  • MCS individuals and chemically sensitive households requiring 26 lbs of carbon and maximum dwell time at high-volume airflow
  • Larger or higher-ceiling spaces where the C600's 560 CFM provides insufficient air cycling for the chemical load
  • Serious chemical filtration applications where both the heavy carbon load of the C series and the higher CFM of the 700 series are required simultaneously

C700 vs. C600: The C600 runs at 560 CFM. The C700 provides 635 CFM with the same 26-lb activated carbon and HepaBarrier configuration — the correct choice when greater airflow is needed for the space volume. C700 vs. C700 DLX: Airpura offers impregnated carbon filters for the C700 DLX; ask us which ships as standard before you order. C700 vs. G700: The G700 uses German-sourced carbon. If carbon source purity is a reactivity consideration alongside chemical capture, the G700 is appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

Airpura rates this machine for up to 2,500 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with 8-foot ceilings. For four air changes, which is what we suggest for smoke, asthma or chemical sensitivity, plan on about 1,250 sq ft.

Same cabinet, same airflow and the same HEPA Barrier post-filter. The difference is the carbon. The standard model uses activated carbon, which handles most household chemicals, VOCs and odors. The DLX uses impregnated carbon, which Airpura builds for heavier chemical and gas loads. If you are dealing with a specific or heavy chemical source, look at the C700 DLX ($1,249.98).

  • The C400 ($669.98) is the compact version: a smaller cabinet and carbon bed, rated by Airpura for 1,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour.
  • The C600 ($1,049.98) moves 560 CFM and is rated by Airpura for 2,000 sq ft at two air changes an hour, with the same filters.

Airpura filter life varies by model and usage. Airpura rates the carbon filter at about two years of continuous use in a typical home. HEPA and pre-filters have their own replacement schedules. Replacement filters are available on our filters page. Running the unit below its rated capacity meaningfully extends filter life.

Airpura units use a variable-speed motor, so you dial airflow up or down across a range rather than stepping through fixed settings. At the low end it is quiet enough to sleep beside. At the top of the range it is clearly audible and is meant for clearing a room quickly — after cooking, painting, or on a smoky day — not for running overnight. Most people settle around the middle of the range and leave it there.

No. This unit uses only mechanical filtration — no ionizer, no UV, no ozone generator. That matters for people with asthma or chemical sensitivity, because ozone is a known airway irritant. Airpura does build UV-equipped machines, and they are gathered in the UV air purifiers collection — this is not one of them.

Yes. Austin Air and Airpura units are used by patients with asthma, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. The True HEPA captures particle-class triggers and the activated carbon addresses VOCs, odors, and chemical compounds. No ionizer, no ozone — safe for respiratory conditions. For MCS specifically, the HealthMate Plus or Airpura C600 have the most relevant specifications.

Yes. Airpura units are designed for continuous residential operation. The steel-body construction and quality motor components are built for this use case. Airpura's 600 and 700 series have a variable-speed dial rather than numbered speeds, and a low to medium setting suits continuous use. Continuous operation at a moderate speed outperforms intermittent high-speed runs for maintaining consistent indoor air quality.

Airpura units ship free directly from their facility in Montreal, Canada. Most orders arrive in 4 to 9 business days, including 1 to 3 business days to process. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Import duties and customs fees are included in the product price — no surprise charges at delivery.

Airpura units carry a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, plus labor-only coverage to 10 years. As an authorized Airpura dealer, Fresh Home Air supports the full manufacturer warranty. Contact us at support@freshhomeair.com for warranty service.

Run it in your home for 30 days. If it is not right, email support@freshhomeair.com and we will send you a prepaid, insured return label. We pay the return shipping, there is no restocking fee, and you get a full refund once the unit is back with us. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email us within 7 days with photos of the item and the packaging. We will send a replacement and collect the original, and you pay nothing.

Yes. No ionizer, no ozone, no UV. Mechanical HEPA and activated carbon only, safe for continuous use in rooms with children and pets.

Maximum filtration for a large open floor plan

Our open concept main floor runs about 2,200 square feet and we needed something with real horsepower. The C700's 700-series motor keeps up easily and the chemical filtration is exceptional — we recently refinished hardwood floors and the off-gassing was handled without any issue. A serious machine for serious air quality needs.

Best Chemical Filtration for a Larger Home

Needed serious VOC and chemical filtration for an open floor plan. The C700 handles it without breaking a sweat. The carbon capacity is impressive and the build is rock solid.

MCS game changer — nothing else compares

I have multiple chemical sensitivity and have tried several air purifiers over the years. The C700 is the first one that genuinely makes a difference in my day-to-day symptoms. The carbon load in this unit is in another league entirely. Running it in my main living space has reduced my reaction frequency noticeably. This was not a cheap purchase but it has meaningfully improved my quality of life.
